Overview

The Refrigeration Service Technician Apprentice will work with the current technical team to complete in-house training and development.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for General Apprentice Service Technician include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Shadowing current Service Technician to learn all duties and responsibilities you will be assigned after apprenticeship.
  • Learn proper customer service communication skills, including how to thoroughly communicate with third party service providers.
  • Learn basics in refrigeration, electrical and cabinetry diagnosis.
  • Observe and learn how all residential model families are assembled.
  • Learn to test reported and report on failed cabinet componentry and returned equipment reported to have manufacturing defects.

Once the apprenticeship is completed, the candidate will be promoted from the apprentice technical level to the role of a Service Technician. They will then be required to fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities below.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Refrigeration Service Technician.  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Major daily responsibility will be answering customer technical service questions via phone and/or e-mail.
  • Writing repair instructions.
  • Factory and field technical service training.
  • Presenting to groups of all sizes.
  • Reviewing new products for possible service-related concerns.

Qualifications

  • HVAC-Refrigeration Certificate or Appliance Repair certificate  from college, technical school, or other educational program required; OR must be currently enrolled in an HVAC-Refrigeration program at an accredited technical school.

  • Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
  • Willing and able to work with many other groups within the company on various projects.
  • Must be willing and able to travel, as some travel is required. Approximately 5 – 10%, throughout North America.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess customer service skills.
  • Team player and willing to take instructions from others.
  • Strong desire to learn and teach.

The hours for this position are 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
