Overview

The Training Specialist plays a key role in fostering continuous employee development aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices. This individual is responsible for researching, designing, developing, facilitating, and evaluating impactful learning programs that support True’s commitment to being an employer of choice. 

 

Key responsibilities include delivering engaging, classroom-based training sessions in multiple languages—such as New Hire Orientation, Safety, and Leadership Development—often for durations of 2 to 6 consecutive hours. The Training Specialist ensures content is relevant, practical, and aligned with True’s core values. 

 

Additionally, this role serves as the liaison for the Learning Management System (LMS), responsible for creating interactive learning content, maintaining system functionality, and providing accurate training metrics. The Training Specialist also manages relationships with external training vendors to support a wide range of learning initiatives. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging training programs for both factory and office employees. This includes instructor-led training (ILT), webinars, e-learning, and video content tailored to adult learning principles to ensure relevance and measurable knowledge transfer.  Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Collaborating with managers, supervisors, and team members to identify training needs and stay informed on changes in policies, procedures, technologies, and business initiatives. 
  • Creating and maintaining training procedures, facilitator guides, and process documentation for both system and classroom-based learning. 
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to develop effective course materials and gather feedback for continuous improvement. 
  • Applying process improvement techniques to evaluate and enhance existing training programs. 
  • Developing and maintaining training materials including handbooks, multimedia aids, computer tutorials, and reference guides. 
  • Supporting employee development initiatives and career growth programs. 
  • Managing training records and metrics within the Learning Management System (LMS) and serving as a key LMS liaison. 
  • Coordinating with external training vendors as needed. 
  • Collaborating with team members on shared training initiatives and providing backup support when necessary. 
  • Promoting a culture of continuous learning by introducing new ideas and suggestions for improving training processes and outcomes. 
  • Ensuring regular and reliable in-office attendance to support training operations. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development or a related field, preferred.
  • One or more years of Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate or other e-learning authoring software experience preferred.
  • One or more years of Employee Development (classroom or online training) experience preferred.
  • Experience with graphic design elements appropriate for online instruction preferred.
  • Experience with web conferencing tools preferred.
  • E-learning/Video course development using common authoring tools preferred.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System is preferred.
  • Facilitating training in a manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exhibit positive and professional behavior.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing preferred.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
